PERSONAL ELECTROSTATIC ELIMINATOR DEVICE-also known as a static discharge device-is a product designed to safely dissipate static electricity accumulated on the human body in environments that are flammable, explosive, or require anti-static precautions. Its use helps prevent fires, explosions, and electric shocks caused by human-generated static electricity, while also reducing electrostatic damage to electronic components.

The electrostatic discharge (ESD) ball features an assembly comprising a stainless steel post and a touch sphere made of either stainless steel or anti-static plastic:

Surface resistivity: 1.0 × 10⁶ Ω ~ 1.0 × 10⁹ Ω (utilizes semi-conductive material to allow for the slow release of static electricity, preventing sparks).

Grounding resistance: <55 Ω (some high-standard facilities require <10 Ω or <60 Ω).

2.Installation and Use
The human body electrostatic discharge ball should be installed directly at personnel entry/exit points outside the electrostatic protection zone-such as at the entrance to a storage tank stairway or outside a pump room-using either a pole-mounted or wall-mounted configuration; a standard flange (e.g., Φ150mm) is typically used to secure the base firmly.
The unit is equipped with a grounding wire that can be pulled out from beneath the base and connected to a grounding system; the grounding resistance must be less than 10Ω (or 55Ω, depending on the specific product) to ensure reliable grounding. To operate, simply touch the metal ball for 2–5 seconds-or for 10–15 seconds, if required by specific regulations-to fully dissipate static electricity.
It is recommended to periodically inspect the grounding wire and connection points to ensure good electrical conductivity.
