Analysis of Antistatic Workwear Fabrics

In industries related to static electricity, such as microelectronics, aerospace, precision machinery, chemicals, and cosmetics, antistatic workwear is an essential protective measure. Antistatic cleanroom fabrics must possess the following three characteristics:

**The fabric must have antistatic properties.** Static electricity attracts dust, making it difficult for the attracted dust to be blown away during air showers. Therefore, this antistatic performance must be durable and efficient, and should not significantly diminish due to daily washing and friction.

**The fabric itself must not generate dust.** Since it is worn in a cleanroom, the fabric must not be a source of dust in the cleanroom. Natural short fibers such as cotton, linen, and silk cannot be used in ultra-cleanroom esd fabrics.

**The fabric must have good dust filtration properties.** Dust in cleanrooms mainly comes from the airflow and the human body moving around. Once equipment conditions are determined, improving cleanliness means maximizing the control of tiny dust particles generated by the human body within the cleanroom garment, allowing them to pass through the fabric and enter the air.

**Yarn, (warp and weft) density, fabric structure, and conductive fibers are the four essential elements of antistatic cleanroom fabrics. The selection of antistatic cleanroom fabric involves comparing the four elements of the fabric based on the cleanliness requirements of the working environment.
