Antistatic PP Strapping Usage and Precautions

When using antistatic PP strapping, select the appropriate binding method according to the size of the goods. For regularly shaped goods, a single strip can be wrapped horizontally; for irregular or heavy goods, cross-binding is recommended to enhance stability. Avoid excessive stretching of the strapping during operation, as this may cause breakage or rebound injury. Furthermore, the antistatic performance gradually decreases over time, especially with frequent friction or contact with sharp objects. Regularly test the surface resistance (usually less than 10⁹Ω) to ensure it meets antistatic requirements. Avoid direct sunlight during storage to prevent material aging and performance degradation.

Compared to ordinary PP strapping, antistatic PP strapping has an optimized material formula. Ordinary PP strapping typically has a surface resistance above 10¹²Ω, easily accumulating static electricity; while the antistatic version, through the uniform dispersion of conductive fillers, reduces the surface resistance to 10⁶-10⁹Ω, effectively reducing the risk of static electricity attracting dust or generating electric sparks. In actual tests, antistatic strapping maintained stable antistatic performance in environments with humidity levels between 30% and 70%, while ordinary strapping showed significant static buildup in dry environments. Furthermore, its black appearance is not only aesthetically pleasing but also reduces glare by absorbing light, minimizing visual interference during operation.
