Applications of ESD Wrist Straps
Wired grounded wrist straps are the most basic and widely used anti-static equipment on production lines. They are convenient to set up and operate, and are also the most affordable. This is because the wrist strap and grounding wire discharge static electricity from the body to the ground. Therefore, the wrist strap must be in direct contact with the skin, and the grounding wire must be directly grounded and unobstructed to achieve maximum effectiveness.
Anti-static wrist straps are devices worn on the wrist to discharge accumulated static charge from the body. They are available in wired and wireless types, and in combinations of metal rings and elastic conductive wire loops. This particular product is a wired anti-static wrist strap with adjustable buckle. It effectively protects components from static interference and discharges static electricity from the body. It consists of an anti-static elastic band, a snap fastener, a spring wire, a protective resistor, and a clip. The inner layer of the elastic band is woven with anti-static yarn, and the outer layer is woven with ordinary yarn. The principle behind anti-static wired wristbands is to conduct static electricity from the human body to the ground through the wristband and grounding wire. When using it, the wristband must be in contact with the skin, and the grounding wire must be directly grounded to maximize its effectiveness. Wearing this anti-static wristband can safely remove static electricity generated in the body within 0.1 seconds. Grounding wristbands are the most basic and widely used type of anti-static equipment.
