2mm thick antistatic leather laid on an ordinary workbench, supplemented by antistatic grounding buckles and other connections, can achieve the effect of static electricity prevention and conduction. Its antistatic performance is indeed affected by many factors, including humidity, temperature and the material itself, but the appropriate thickness mainly depends on the use environment.
Antistatic leather is generally 2mm-5mm thick, and different thicknesses are suitable for different applications. In most cases, if the workbench is not heavily loaded, a 2mm thickness can be used. The antistatic effect is the same and will not change due to changes in thickness. As long as effective grounding is done, it can fully prevent static electricity; if there are only people walking and no heavy objects moving on the ground environment, a 3mm thickness is recommended; if there are heavy objects such as carts moving or the ground needs to be buffered, a 5mm thickness is recommended. Therefore, although the effectiveness of the antistatic rubber is not directly related to its thickness, it is still necessary to choose the appropriate thickness according to specific usage requirements.
