Performance testing and standards for ESD anti-static fabrics
The fabric of anti-static clothing is made of polyester filament fiber, with conductive fibers embedded in the warp or warp and weft directions. It has excellent anti-static and dust-proof properties and is widely used in anti-static areas and dust-free clean areas.
Anti-static ESD performance testing
Anti-static is an important feature of dust-free clothing, especially in microelectronics and other industries, which have stricter anti-static performance requirements for clothing. The general test has two parts: surface resistance test and friction voltage test.
1. Surface resistance test
Principle: This test can verify the conductive efficacy of the conductive thread and whether the previous stitching process between the fabric and the fabric meets the requirements, such as the connection between the conductive threads. Test conditions: Temperature: (20±5)0C Relative humidity: (35±5)% Test voltage: (100±5)V Test time 15S Test method: Place the tested work clothes flat on a special test bench (table resistance Greater than or equal to 103Ω), use a resistance tester to test it. It is usually necessary to test different points of the work clothes, such as between a piece of fabric, between different pieces of fabric, between sleeves and sleeves, between pants and pants, etc. Test results: take the geometric mean of 5 measurements
The following are commonly used surface resistance testers

2. Friction voltage test
Principle: This test is mainly to verify whether the cloth itself can reach a specified stable value in a short period of time after accumulating some voltage through friction. Test conditions: Temperature: (20±5)0C Relative humidity: (35±5)% Test method: On a dedicated ESD test bench (grounded), the tester rubs the surface of the cloth several times with a certain strength and speed. (usually 5-10 times), then use the probe of a special voltage tester to aim at the rubbed part about 5cm apart, and read the voltage value after the 5th second. Test results: friction voltage should be less than 100V
