                                                              Selection of electrostatic instruments

First, the basic supporting equipment

There are three main basic parameters for measuring static electricity, electrostatic voltage (bit), charge amount (density) and resistance (rate). The amount of charge is the physical quantity of the electrostatic nature, and the amount of charge or charge density is measured in many scientific studies. However, it is inconvenient to directly measure the amount of charge at many sites, and the surface electrostatic voltage is measured at this time. The antistatic properties of many materials can be identified by measuring their surface resistance or bulk resistance. The basic measuring instruments that should be equipped in any department are electrostatic voltmeters and high-resistance meters to periodically check for objects that may generate static electricity. If the conditions permit, it should also be equipped with an electrostatic detection alarm door (device) and a human body comprehensive resistance tester.

Second, according to the choice of use place

Instruments commonly used in the field are preferably pocket or portable. It is most convenient to use the battery if it uses a battery or an AC power source. But mainly in the laboratory, it is best to use AC power to avoid the trouble of changing batteries frequently. For battery-powered instruments, be aware of the battery undervoltage indication. Because the accuracy of the instrument is significantly worse when the battery is under voltage. For AC-powered instruments, pay attention to whether the power supply voltage meets the requirements of the local power supply. Some have 115/230V selector switches (such as EST801 electrostatic generator). Check whether the power supply voltage selection switch is in the proper position before use.

Third, according to the requirements of the place of use

The instruments used in flammable and explosive places must be explosion-proof and must be protected against explosion-proof grades. It depends on whether there is an explosion-proof mark and an explosion-proof certificate number on the instrument.
