The Correct Way to Carry an Anti-static Wristband

Many colleagues working on the production line now wear anti-static clothing and anti-static wristbands. Anti-static wristbands are generally divided into corded and cordless types. We won't discuss cordless wristbands here, as corded wristbands are more commonly used by staff due to their superior effectiveness. Cordless wristbands are mainly used as temporary tools by supervisors during inspections.

First, an anti-static corded wristband consists of an elastic band, snaps, a spring cord, a protective resistor, and a plug. The inner layer of the elastic band uses anti-static wire. The wristband consists of a stainless steel outer shell that fits snugly against the wrist, connected to a 1M ohm resistor wire, and grounded by an iron clip. It serves to discharge static electricity from the body while preventing sparks from rapid discharge, thus providing isolation. Although the principle is simple, observations of staff usage reveal numerous flaws. Please see the correct way to wear it:

1. The wristband must be in close contact with the skin and not loose.

2. The stainless steel case of the anti-static wrist strap should be worn on the inside of the left wrist, where the contact resistance is minimal.

3. The clamp should be properly grounded.

Only by correctly following the operating procedures can the device be used to its fullest potential and effectively eliminate static electricity.
