Static electricity is a static, non-flowing charge. The flowing charge forms an electric current. When the charge gathers on an object or surface, static electricity is formed. Static electricity has many hazards. When the aircraft body rubs against air, water vapor, dust and other particles, the aircraft will be charged, which will seriously interfere with the normal operation of the aircraft radio equipment. In the printing factory, the static electricity between the pages will make the pages stick together and difficult to separate. In the pharmaceutical factory, due to the static electricity adsorption of dust, the medicine will not reach the standard purity; static electricity may explode due to static electricity sparks igniting certain flammable objects. On the operating table, electric sparks can cause the explosion of anesthetics, injuring doctors and patients; in coal mines, it will cause gas explosions, resulting in the death and injury of workers and the scrapping of mines. Static discharge measures to prevent the generation of static electricity are generally to reduce the flow rate and flow, transform the process links with strong electrification, and use equipment and materials with less electrification. The simplest and most reliable way is to ground the equipment with a wire, so that the charge can be led to the ground to avoid static electricity accumulation.

The generation of static electricity is inevitable in industrial production. The hazards caused by electrostatic discharge (ESD):

Cause failure of electronic equipment and electromagnetic interference. Breakdown of integrated circuits and precision electronic components, adsorption of dust, pollution of integrated circuits and semiconductor components, and reduction of production yield. High-voltage electrostatic discharge causes electric shock and endangers personal safety. It is very easy to cause explosions and fires in production sites of flammable and explosive goods or dust and oil mist.

To improve and effectively anti-static system engineering, corresponding countermeasures should be formulated according to the actual conditions of different enterprises and different operating objects. Anti-static measures should be systematic and comprehensive, otherwise, it may be counterproductive or even cause destructive reactions.
