The significance of anti-static clothing in the oil industry
First, the static electricity hazard in the petrochemical industry is very large, and static electricity can cause explosions and fire accidents.
The ignition point of oil is very low, and only a little static electricity spark can detonate the entire production base. The petrochemical industry is a dangerous industry with explosive mixtures of flammable gases. Some dangerous substances are prone to generate and accumulate static electricity. When the static electricity potential reaches a certain level and meets the conditions for static electricity discharge, and the energy of the generated discharge spark is greater than the minimum ignition energy of the dangerous substance, it can cause explosions and fire accidents. Therefore, curbing static electricity is the top priority of oil safety production, so operators should wear anti-static work clothes.
Secondly, anti-static clothing can effectively discharge human static electricity and prevent static electricity accumulation.
Workers in the petrochemical industry must wear anti-static clothing, because when anti-static work clothes are woven, they are roughly equally spaced or evenly mixed with anti-static fibers or anti-static synthetic fibers made of conductive materials made of metal or organic matter, or a mixture of the two. Workers in the petrochemical industry cannot wear clothing made of chemical fiber fabrics, because chemical fiber fabric clothing will generate high static voltage and static sparks when worn and rubbed, which is very dangerous. Anti-static clothing will introduce self-generated static electricity into the ground when the workers walk. If static electricity is focused and discharged, it may detonate the oil tank, and the consequences can be imagined.

In fact, in order to ensure safety in the petrochemical industry, workers should take other anti-static measures in addition to wearing anti-static clothing, anti-static gloves, anti-static hats, and anti-static shoes.
