The anti-static wrist strap is one of the common grounding methods used by personnel in the EPA area. It is the most basic anti-static equipment and a must-have for the most commonly used production line. It is not only very convenient in erection and operation, but also in price. It is most often economical. The reason is that through the wrist strap and the grounding wire, the static electricity on the human body can be discharged to the earth, so as to realize the equipotential connection between the personnel and the grounding system. Therefore, the wrist strap must be in contact with the skin when in use, and the grounding wire must be directly grounded, and ensure that the grounding wire is unobstructed in order to exert its maximum effect.


The common types of anti-static wrist straps can be divided into dust-free silicone wrist straps and elastic wrist straps according to the material. According to the structure, they are divided into single-loop anti-static wrist straps, double-loop anti-static wrist straps and cordless anti-static wrist straps.


The wrist strap (including the alligator clip) is composed of two parts: the ground wire (including the alligator clip) and the wrist ring. There is a 1 megohm resistor at the connection section of the ground wire and the wrist ring, which is mainly used to limit current and protect the human body. Security.


There are two ways to wear an anti-static wrist strap:


1. The metal block of the anti-static wrist strap should be close to the skin, and the front serration of the alligator clip should be clamped to the metal wire of the grounding wire;

2. The metal block of the anti-static wrist strap must be close to the skin, and the plug must be fully and effectively connected to the wrist strap alarm device. The green light indicates the connection is successful;


It is not recommended to use the first method, because it is easy to fall off when pulling, and it is easy to clamp the front gap of the alligator clip to the metal wire of the grounding wire during operation, resulting in poor grounding.

Wrong operation of wearing an anti-static wrist strap:

1. The anti-static wrist strap is loose, and the metal block is not close to the skin;

2. Wear an anti-static wrist strap on gloves or on sleeves;

3. The alligator clip of the anti-static wrist strap is loose, poor contact with the metal wire of the grounding wire or clamped on the insulating layer of the grounding wire;

4. Poor contact between the anti-static wrist strap plug and the wrist strap alarm
