Why Use a Static Electricity Discharge (ESD) Device?
The primary purpose of using an ESD device is to safely and controllably eliminate static electricity accumulated on the human body, preventing instantaneous high-voltage discharges that could cause fires, explosions, or electric shocks. It works by increasing the discharge resistance, dispersing the instantaneous static energy over a longer period, thus achieving the goals of safe production and personnel protection.

Ensure reliable grounding: Many discharge devices are designed with explosion-proof touch balls that are reliably grounded and clearly indicate that static electricity has been completely discharged through audible and visual cues (such as a flashing green light), ensuring that personnel can only enter hazardous areas when they are in a safe condition.
Comply with safety regulations: Relevant regulations such as GB12158-2016 "Guidelines for the Prevention of Static Electricity Accidents" require that static electricity on the human body must be eliminated in critical areas.
Usage method: Touch the touch ball directly with your hand until the audible and visual alarm disappears (the red light no longer appears), indicating that static electricity on the human body has been completely discharged, and it is safe to pass through.
