A Brief Introduction to Antistatic Workwear
The main principle of antistatic clothing is to eliminate static electricity on the garment by utilizing the corona discharge and leakage effect of conductive fibers. When grounded, the static electricity on the fabric is neutralized by the corona discharge of the conductive fibers and can also be discharged to the ground through the conductive fibers; when not grounded, static electricity is eliminated by the corona discharge of the conductive fibers.
Research shows that the charge on the surface of a charged body is discharged not only through the surface and the body but also into the air. Experiments show that in a high-humidity environment, when the charge density on the surface of a charged body is high, the charge will rapidly dissipate into the air. However, when the charge energy is very low, this phenomenon is not obvious. Therefore, when removing antistatic workwear when leaving the workplace, avoid prolonged exposure. Additionally, when storing antistatic workwear, choose a shaded place with moderate airflow. If possible, seal the antistatic workwear in a large plastic bag.
