Frequently, customers will be exposed to high-temperature heat sources on the anti-static work surface. For example, there are anti-static heat welding, alcohol lamps, hot air guns and other high-temperature heat sources. In order to improve production safety, it is necessary to effectively prevent static electricity accumulation. Anti-static mats that can safely discharge static electricity, and to avoid disasters caused by high-temperature sources, so the requirements of such special occasions naturally put forward the requirements of high-temperature anti-static mats. However, at present, many manufacturers claim that the anti-static mat is resistant to high temperatures. How to identify which type of anti-static mat is high temperature resistant? ESD technical consultation recommends a simpler method of identification.
Before talking about the identification method, let's talk about the material of the high temperature anti-static mat, which is helpful for understanding and identification. The high temperature resistance of the anti-static mat is one of the physical properties of the material, and is related to the raw materials and manufacturing process of the anti-static mat. The more common anti-static mats on the market are made of rubber, rubber and plastic, and PVC. Under normal circumstances, we recommend the use of rubber anti-static mats, its high temperature resistance, low temperature resistance, oil resistance, chemical resistance, tensile strength, tear strength and other physical properties than the other two materials It must be much better.
Having said that, in fact, the identification method is very simple. Use the burning cigarette head with a cigarette temperature of 800 degrees Celsius or above to touch the surface of the anti-static mat. It can be seen in 10-20 seconds. If you find that there is no obvious hot mark or no melting point or only a little black that can be wiped, it is generally a good anti-static mat made of rubber material, and the high temperature performance is relatively guaranteed; if it is found to have pits or melt Point, its material is mainly based on rubber, especially PVC, and its high temperature resistance is much worse. Such anti-static mats of rubber or PVC materials, in the event of a burning disaster, generally have poor flame retardancy and release harmful gases. Therefore, many customers often ask for the flame retardant performance of the anti-static mat. It is no longer specifically mentioned here.
