Anti-static equipment performance testing
The parameters for evaluating its performance include the level of electrification voltage, the amount of charged charge (charge density), resistivity (surface resistivity, volume resistivity), half-life, etc. In the laboratory, there are good environmental conditions and many sophisticated instruments, such as high resistance meters or ultra high resistance meters, electrometers, charge meters, half-decay meters, etc., which can test multiple parameters for a material, but in the field or General users, even without these conditions, can easily measure the performance of anti-static equipment.

Use a simple method to test the performance of anti-static equipment
1. Use the electrostatic voltmeter method
Use nylon cloth or plastic to rub against the surface of the tested anti-static equipment. Use a low-cost and easy-to-use electrostatic voltmeter to measure its surface potential. The performance is better; if the electrification voltage is high, such as several thousand volts or tens of thousands volts, and it can hardly be reduced for a long time (a few seconds or longer), the anti-static performance of the test is poor.
2. Use megohmmeter and electrode method
Generally, the electrostatic surface resistivity of anti-static equipment is within the range of 106-109Ω, which is a product with better performance. The test voltage is usually 100V or 500V. Therefore, it can be measured with a megger and electrodes. The size and weight of the electrode when measuring the surface resistance have a great influence on the measurement result. Therefore, the error is sometimes larger when measuring with non-standard electrodes.
