How to choose anti-static packaging materials
In recent years, as people's awareness of the hazards of static electricity continues to deepen, anti-static packaging has become more and more important. There are two reasons for this: one is that polymer materials have become the most important packaging materials at present, and polymer materials are mostly materials with good electrical insulation; the other is that various electronic products are becoming more and more refined, and microelectronics With the increasing of the miniaturization and integration of its products, the electrostatic sensitivity has become more and more demanding for various anti-static packaging.

Anti-static packaging is mainly used in the packaging of electrostatic sensitive products, such as: electronic components (devices), electrical products, optoelectronic products, optomechanical integration products, missiles, ammunition, explosives and other products.
Antistatic materials refer to materials that do not generate frictional charges during use and transportation.
The protective ability of anti-static packaging mainly depends on the anti-static performance of the anti-static packaging material. Generally speaking, the lower the resistance of the packaging material, the better the anti-static performance. The relationship between the surface resistivity of the material and the degree of electrostatic protection is shown in the figure.
The choice of anti-static material depends on the electrostatic sensitivity of the product itself. For example, for products that are not very sensitive to static electricity (insensitive), packaging materials with a surface resistivity of 10E9-20E12Ω are ideal. This kind of material is not easy to generate static electricity and has the function of anti-static. At the same time, it also has the advantages of low cost and easy availability of materials. For example, natural fiber products such as ordinary paper and cotton and linen have this function. If the product is extremely sensitive to static electricity, such as field effect transistors, large-scale integrated electronic components, electric detonators, electric torches, etc., packaging materials with surface resistivity below 10E9Ω must be used.
