Instructions for Using an ESD-Safe Workbench
An ESD-safe workbench is a fundamental component of an anti-static work area. It consists of a workbench, an anti-static mat, a wrist strap connector, and a ground wire. Proper usage instructions are as follows:
1. The anti-static mat should have at least two wrist strap connectors: one for operators and one for technicians, inspectors, or other personnel.
2. If necessary, an ionizing air static eliminator should be installed on the ESD-safe workbench.
3. Items that easily generate static electricity, such as plastic boxes (sheets), erasers, cardboard, and glass, should not be placed on the ESD-safe workbench. Drawings and other materials should be placed in an anti-static document bag.
