The difference between medical masks and dust masks

1. Medical mask

It is made by compounding one or more layers of non-woven fabrics. The main production processes include meltblown, spunbond, hot air or needle punching. It is equivalent to resisting liquids, filtering particles and bacteria. It is a medical protective textile.

2. Dust mask

It is an indispensable protective equipment for workers engaged in and exposed to dust. It is mainly used in working environments containing low concentrations of harmful gases and vapors as well as working environments where dust can be generated. The filter cartridge contains only adsorbent or sorbent. Some filter cartridges are also equipped with a filter layer to prevent aerosols at the same time. Some military gas masks are mainly made of activated carbon cloth, or use water-resistant and oil-resistant fabric as the outer layer, glass fiber filter material as the inner layer, and activated carbon-impregnated polyurethane foam as the bottom layer, which can provide temporary protection against sudden gas attacks. Protection.

The main role of dust masks

Dust-proof masks are mainly dust-proof, with good anti-bacterial and anti-virus effects, but some are better than none, you can deal with it. Viruses usually do not exist in the air alone, but attach to particles such as droplets, dust, dander, etc. The filtering mechanism of KN95 and N95 masks is to block these fine particles through the high-performance filter layer in the mask to build a Protective barrier.
