What are some effective methods to eliminate static electricity?

Providing effective static electricity protection is not difficult. By following these steps, static electricity can be effectively controlled!

I. Grounding: Grounding directly discharges static electricity to the earth through a conductor. This is the most direct and effective anti-static measure. For conductors, grounding is commonly used, such as by wearing anti-static wrist straps and grounding work surfaces. Grounding is implemented through the following methods:

a. Grounding the human body through wrist straps.

b. Grounding the human body through anti-static shoes (or shank straps) and anti-static flooring.

c. Grounding the workshop work surface.

d. Grounding workshop testing instruments, tool holders, and soldering irons.

e. Grounding anti-static flooring and mats.

f. Grounding anti-static transport carts, anti-static turnover boxes, and anti-static turnover racks whenever possible.

g. Grounding anti-static chairs.

II. Electrostatic Shielding: Electrostatic sensitive components may be exposed to static-contaminated areas during storage or transportation. Electrostatic shielding can reduce the impact of external static electricity on electronic components. The most common methods are using electrostatic shielding bags and anti-static turnover boxes for protection. Additionally, anti-static clothing provides some shielding for the human body.

III. Ion Neutralization: This mainly involves ion fans, ion bars, etc. Insulators are often prone to static electricity. Grounding is ineffective in eliminating static electricity from insulators. The commonly used method is ion neutralization (partially using shielding), which involves using ion fans, etc., to provide an equipotential working area in the work environment.

Ion copper bars can quickly eliminate static electricity from object surfaces within a 100mm plane and are classified as industrial applications. Their design is suitable for static elimination devices on flat object conveyor lines, slitting lines, and winding lines. A high-voltage generator is required for use. Working Principle: The ionized copper rod generates a large number of positive and negative charges, which neutralize the charge on an object. When the object's surface carries a negative charge, it attracts positive charges from the airflow; conversely, when the object's surface carries a positive charge, it attracts negative charges from the airflow, thus neutralizing the static electricity on the object's surface and achieving the purpose of eliminating static electricity. It is particularly suitable for static electricity elimination on flat object conveyor lines, slitting machines, and during film and paper winding. Product Features: Utilizes AC corona discharge, providing a wide positive and negative ion generation area and excellent static elimination effect. Suitable for confined working spaces, primarily used in the electronics, spraying, textile, papermaking, packaging, and printing industries.

Installation Instructions for the Static Electricity Rod: Safety Instructions: The Sishuo static electricity rod must be used with a high-voltage generator. Insert the end of the ion rod's connecting wire into the high-voltage output socket of the high-voltage generator, rotate clockwise to the end, then connect the grounding wire of the ion rod's connecting wire to the grounding post on the outside of the high-voltage generator. After confirming good grounding, plug the power plug of the high-voltage generator into a socket with a grounded wire (note the operating voltage of the high-voltage generator). Securely install the ion rod in a suitable position and turn on the power to the high-voltage generator to begin operation. After a period of use, dust will accumulate on the ion needles and the inner wall of the copper tube of the ion bar, requiring regular cleaning. The power must be disconnected during cleaning.
