In fact, this is a common misconception.
Most garments are insulated or have insulating properties (depending on the amount of sweat in the garment, thickness, fabric, number of layers, etc.). The charge does not move on the insulator, it remains on the insulator, so static electricity will not neutralize after a certain amount of time. Therefore, your sleeves, belts, etc. may carry a voltage of several thousand volts (the electric field it produces is very strong for the surrounding conductors), which may induce a charge on the nearby isolated conductor, the hazard is unimaginable. Therefore, the staff needs to put on anti-static overalls and shield the insulated clothes to minimize the electrostatic field generated by the clothes.
