Electrostatic Protection Facilities for Electronic Products
1. Electrostatic-Safe Workstations
a. An electrostatic-safe workstation is a fundamental component of an electrostatic-protected area (EPA). It consists of a workbench, an anti-static table mat, wrist strap connection points, and a grounding wire.
b. Each anti-static table mat must be equipped with at least two wrist strap connection points-one for the operator and another for technical staff, inspectors, or other personnel.

c. When necessary, an electrostatic-safe workstation should be equipped with an ionizer (air ionizer) for static elimination.
d. Items prone to generating static electricity-such as plastic boxes (or sheets), rubber, cardboard, and glass-must not be placed on an electrostatic-safe workstation. Documents, drawings, and similar materials should be kept in anti-static document holders.
2. Anti-Static Wrist Straps: Personnel who come into direct contact with electrostatic-sensitive devices (ESDs) must wear an anti-static wrist strap. The strap must maintain good contact with the user's skin, cause no irritation or allergic reactions, and the total resistance of the wrist strap system to the ground must be within the range of $10^6 to $10^8 ohms
3. Anti-Static Containers: During the development and production of electronic equipment, all containers used for storing or transporting ESDs (such as component bags, transport totes, printed circuit board racks, and component storage boxes) must provide electrostatic protection. The use of metal or standard plastic containers is prohibited. When necessary, transport totes used for storing components should be grounded.
4. Ionizers (Air Ionizers): Ionizers should be used to eliminate static charges from the surfaces of insulating materials.
5. Anti-Static Workwear
a. Personnel entering an electrostatic-protected area or handling ESDs must wear anti-static workwear. The fabric used for such workwear must comply with the requirements of the GB 12014 standard. b. In environments with a relative humidity greater than 50%, anti-static workwear made of pure cotton is permitted.
6. Anti-static footwear: Personnel entering an anti-static work area or coming into contact with static-sensitive devices (SSD) must wear anti-static footwear, which shall comply with the relevant provisions of the GB 4385 standard. In general, ordinary footwear is permitted, provided that it is used in conjunction with conductive shoe straps or heel straps.
7. Anti-static transport carts: When transporting SSDs or assemblies/components containing SSDs, transport carts with anti-static properties must be used.
