When Should You Use an Anti-Static Agent?
Under what circumstances should an anti-static agent be used, and what kind of results can it achieve? Let's look at this through the lens of static electricity encountered in everyday life and industrial processes!

For instance, when fabric is being processed, it may rub against the rollers at the exit of a stenter (setting) machine, generating static electricity. This causes the fabric to cling to the rollers-potentially leading to it being pulled upward and wrapped around the rollers, which disrupts the winding process.

Static electricity can also be generated when fabric rubs against human skin. If the fabric has not undergone an anti-static treatment, the static charge cannot easily dissipate; instead, it accumulates, causing the garment to cling to the skin-which is not only inconvenient when walking but also quite embarrassing.

Furthermore, why might you feel a "shock" when handling fabric after it leaves a stenter machine? This is undoubtedly due to static electricity accumulating on the fabric's surface as a result of friction against the machinery. Without an anti-static treatment, this charge is difficult to discharge. Once the static charge reaches a certain threshold, a person may feel a shock, hear a "crackling" sound, or, in more severe cases, even sustain an electrical injury.

In all these scenarios, an anti-static agent can be used to achieve remarkable results:

1. After treatment with an anti-static agent, the electrical resistance of the material is significantly reduced-often reaching a range of 10⁷ to 10⁹ ohms-providing excellent anti-static performance.

2. The agent drastically shortens the half-life of static charges-reducing it from 60 seconds to less than 1 second-allowing for the rapid dissipation of static electricity generated by friction against machinery.

3. Because the agent is non-ionic, it exhibits excellent compatibility with other processing auxiliaries; it can be used in conjunction with waterproofing agents, softeners, water, alcohol, and various other substances. 4. Electro-hydraulic agent DP-303 offers excellent compatibility and superior anti-static performance. It is gentle on the skin and leaves no greasy residue; by helping to streamline production processes and reduce costs, it serves as an ideal solution for your static-control needs.
