Electrostatic Voltage Testing of Class 100 Cleanroom esd Clothes

This test verifies how much static electricity can be conducted away by conductive threads and how much remains after the fabric of a Class 100 cleanroom clothing accumulates static electricity in the environment.

The test method involves placing the garment under test on a dedicated test bench and reading the voltage using the probes of an ESD tester at a distance of approximately 5 cm.

The test standard depends on the customer's workwear design specifications; strict requirements can be less than 5V. A value around 50V is generally common.

Class 100 Cleanroom Clothes Testing Method

After cleanroom cleaning, workwear is directly used in cleanrooms of various cleanroom levels. In workshops producing high-precision products, any abnormality in any process can compromise product quality. If dust particles on the garment exceed a certain control range, the wearer's movement can cause them to fall into the cleanroom environment, potentially landing on the product. As a crucial component of the cleanroom environment, monitoring cleanroom clothing is crucial.
