How to correctly choose and maintain anti-static work clothes
The anti-static performance of anti-static clothing has a certain degree of durability. Therefore, when choosing anti-static clothing, it is necessary to choose the corresponding anti-static level work clothes according to the washing requirements determined by the pollution situation in the workplace.

Anti-static work clothes are used in fire and explosion places, so you should usually choose anti-static work clothes that also have flame retardant properties to provide more reliable protection for workers. The anti-static work clothes used by gas station operators and similar types of work should also have anti-oil effect.
Cotton work clothes have the effect of preventing static electricity, but they may not be able to meet the requirements of anti-static work clothes for a single piece of clothing with a charge of less than 0.6μC, especially after washing, due to the selection of detergents, etc. The effect of preventing static electricity will be reduced. Therefore, you must be cautious when choosing anti-static clothing made of cotton fabric, especially in dry areas in the north.
Quality verification
When choosing anti-static work clothes, you should ask for a test report from the supplier, check the product characteristics, production batch, production date, and whether the provided cloth samples are consistent with the supplied products. Since the structure of anti-static work clothes has a great relationship with its anti-static effect, you should pay attention to the following when checking the ordered anti-static work clothes:
1. The buttons, zippers, hooks, trips and other accessories of work clothes are preferably made of non-metallic materials such as plastic or nylon. If metal accessories are used when making work clothes, try them on to ensure that the metal accessories are not exposed when wearing and engaging in various activities.
2. Look at the reverse side of work clothes, pockets, welts, reinforcement fabrics, etc., it is best to use anti-static fabrics as well; for other materials, the exposed area should be less than 20% of the exposed area of all anti-static clothes.
3. The cotton inner sleeve and full lining should be detachable for cotton clothing and full lining work clothes made for cold protection and warmth or other special requirements.
4. Check the anti-static fabric, for the same type of conductive fiber, the higher the density, the better the anti-static performance.
Packaging, storage and transportation
It should be noted during transportation that there must be a cover on the anti-static work clothes, and the packaging must not be damaged to prevent sunlight and high temperatures; it is strictly forbidden to drag with a hand hook during transportation.
Anti-static clothing should be stored in a dry and ventilated warehouse to prevent mildew and deterioration. When storing, keep more than 200mm away from the ground and wall, and more than 1m away from all heating elements. Avoid direct sunlight and strictly prohibit placing it in the open air.
Anti-static wool knitted fabrics must be packed with appropriate mothproofing agent during storage.
maintenance
Anti-static work clothes are best cleaned with neutral detergent. Do not wash with other clothes during washing. Use hand washing or washing machine soft washing procedures to avoid the conductive fibers from breaking. The temperature of the washing water should be below 40℃, and clean water at room temperature should be used for rinsing. The washing time is as short as possible, but it must be rinsed sufficiently to remove residual detergent. Do not use bleaching powder or organic solvents to decontaminate anti-static work clothes that have both flame-retardant and oil-proof properties.
Precautions for wearing
1. Anti-static work clothes must be worn with anti-static shoes specified in GB4385.
2. It is forbidden to attach or wear any metal objects on the anti-static clothing. Tools that need to be carried should have anti-static and anti-spark functions; metal tools should be placed in anti-static work clothes and belts, and metal parts should not be exposed.
3. It is forbidden to wear anti-static clothing in flammable and explosive places.
4. Do not wear anti-static overalls in a strong electromagnetic environment or in an area with high-voltage bare wires nearby.
Service life
Anti-static work clothes should be scrapped in time if they are damaged, sutures are broken, mildewed, conductive fibers are broken, or have reached the washing resistance time specified by the anti-static grade. The user should sample the anti-static clothing with a service life of half the service life or a storage period of one year for inspection. Products that have lost their anti-static performance after testing should be scrapped in time to ensure that the products are qualified for use.
