Precautions for Using Antistatic Gloves
Antistatic gloves are commonly used in the production process of electronics factories. Have we paid attention to different types of antistatic gloves for different applications? Commonly used antistatic gloves include those made of polyester fabric with conductive fibers, nylon with carbon fiber, and nylon with metal fibers.
When using antistatic gloves, consider their static voltage withstand value. If the withstand voltage is below 100V, nylon with carbon fiber is recommended; if it is below 10V, nylon with metal fibers is recommended. Polyester fabric gloves with conductive fibers will generate approximately 500V of static voltage upon friction; please choose accordingly.

Key points to note when using antistatic gloves: Ensure the gloves are in close contact with the skin; check for damage or leaks before use; avoid contact with strong oxidizing acids and oils; replace gloves regularly to prevent conductive fiber failure; use neutral detergent for cleaning and avoid high-temperature baking or direct sunlight. Antistatic gloves should be used by designated personnel only and should not be mixed with other work gloves. The following are detailed precautions for the use and maintenance of antistatic gloves: I. Wearing and Usage Precautions Correct Wearing: Ensure the gloves fit snugly against the hand. They are usually worn in conjunction with antistatic wrist straps, work shoes, and work clothes to ensure the continuous effectiveness of the conductive system. Check for Damage: Before use, check the gloves for damage and broken conductive fibers. If damaged, replace them immediately; otherwise, they will not provide antistatic protection. Avoid Contact with Contaminants: Antistatic gloves should avoid contact with grease, chemical reagents (especially strong oxidants such as nitric acid and chromic acid), and dust to prevent product contamination or deterioration of glove performance. Handling Details: When performing precision operations, avoid scratching the gloves with sharp fingernails. II. Cleaning and Maintenance Professional Cleaning: Use a neutral detergent for cleaning. Avoid using strong acids or alkalis. Hand washing or a gentle machine wash cycle is recommended. Water Temperature Control: The washing water temperature should ideally be controlled below 40°C. High-temperature baking is strictly prohibited: After washing, air dry naturally in a cool, ventilated place. Do not bake at high temperatures or expose to direct sunlight, otherwise the conductive fibers will be damaged and become brittle. Storage requirements: Store in a dry, ventilated warehouse, at least 200 mm away from the ground and walls, and away from heat sources. III. Replacement cycle Regular testing: The effectiveness of antistatic gloves decreases with use. It is recommended to test the antistatic performance every 6 months or according to the frequency of use. Replace immediately if damaged: Replace gloves immediately if they show obvious oil stains, damage, or are uncomfortable to wear.
