Professional Knowledge: Introduction to Anti-static Wrist Straps
Anti-static wrist straps are made of soft and elastic materials woven with conductive wires. They have good conductivity, adjustable length, and a spring-loaded grounding wire that can withstand over 30,000 environmental tests without breaking.
Corned wrist straps are the most basic and widely used anti-static equipment on production lines. They are convenient to set up and operate, and are also the most affordable. This is because they discharge static electricity from the body to the ground through the wrist strap and grounding wire. Therefore, the wrist strap must be in proper contact with the skin, and the grounding wire must be directly grounded and unobstructed to achieve maximum effectiveness.




Corned wrist straps work on the principle of "corona discharge" and point discharge. When the accumulated charge exceeds a certain value, it discharges into space due to the potential difference, thereby eliminating static electricity. Another screw is provided on the outside of the machine, which is connected to the internal conductor circuit (1). It can be used to neutralize the static charge caused by improper contact with a high static power source, so that the static charge can be neutralized with the water molecules in the air outside the screw before the ion neutralization is completed, thus effectively eliminating the static electricity and achieving the final purpose of static discharge (static voltage balance). (2) This screw can be used to perform the potential zeroing function (simply touch the screw to ground). (3) It can be used as a circuit detection terminal.
