The Generation of Static Electricity in Computer Rooms
Static electricity in communication equipment rooms mainly arises when two objects with different charging sequences come into contact and separate through friction, collision, or peeling. One object accumulates a positive charge, while the other accumulates an equal amount of negative charge. This is because when two different objects are in close contact, their outermost electrons have different work functions; electrons jump from the object with the lower work function to the object with the higher work function. In addition, electrostatic induction in conductors, the piezoelectric effect, and electric roller radiation induction can also generate very high electrostatic voltages.
