The Importance of Static Electricity Grounding

"Static electricity grounding" is essential in all electronics factories. As a conductor, the earth can safely and effectively conduct static electricity into the ground, reducing its impact.

Static electricity is mainly generated by friction between different materials. In the electronics manufacturing process, static electricity causes various hazards.

First, many equipment and instruments in this factory are sensitive to static voltage, which can affect their normal operation and even cause malfunctions. Second, the high voltage generated by static electricity can cause electric shock.

Furthermore, severe static electricity can cause spark discharge, potentially leading to fires.

To eliminate the hazards caused by static electricity, measures must be taken. The simplest and most effective method is grounding. In this electronics production workshop, all equipment that generates static electricity must be reliably grounded. To prevent the static charge accumulated on equipment and personnel from reaching dangerous potentials, anti-static flooring is used in the main production areas. This type of flooring contains a network of copper wires in its protective material. These metal networks form electrical pathways for the conduction of static electricity. As part of the electrical design, grounding terminals should be appropriately reserved on the building columns in the space where the anti-static flooring is located. After the flooring is laid, the metal wires within the anti-static flooring should be connected to these grounding terminals. Furthermore, the grounding terminal must be connected to the grounding electrode through the main reinforcing bars inside the column, allowing static electricity to flow from the grounding terminal along the main reinforcing bars to the grounding electrode.

Effective grounding methods can reduce and eliminate static electricity, protecting products from the hazards of static electricity and ensuring the personal safety of operators.
