The Most Effective Measures to Control Static Electricity

The most effective way to control static electricity on the human body is to connect the body to the earth, or to ground it. Therefore, wear anti-static shoes. Maintaining a connection between the human body and the earth requires an anti-static floor to conduct static electricity away from the body. To do this, use anti-static floor mats, anti-static composite sheets, and connect them to the ground with an anti-static grounding cable. If funds are sufficient, consider using anti-static raised flooring, especially when planning and designing a computer room. If the computer room has already been designated and the equipment has been installed, and you don't want to disrupt production due to the installation of anti-static equipment, consider using inexpensive and easy-to-install anti-static floor mats, anti-static composite sheets, or other similar materials.

Even wearing anti-static shoes and using anti-static floor mats, anti-static composite sheets, or anti-static raised flooring may not guarantee effective anti-static results. People often also wear socks and insoles. Young people's feet sweat easily, and these socks and insoles can conduct static electricity. However, for middle-aged and elderly people, the dryness inside their shoes during dry seasons makes these socks and insoles less effective. Furthermore, many manufacturers only require workers to wear anti-static clothing and shoes, ignoring the adverse effects of socks and insoles. This makes these shoes and floors ineffective in their anti-static properties. Therefore, a "human body resistance tester" should be placed at the entrance to a machine room or factory building to quickly and accurately detect those wearing substandard anti-static shoes, socks, and insoles.
