The role and risk of ion fan

1. The principle of removing static electricity from the ion static eliminator: generates air ions and acts on the static electricity source to neutralize static electricity.
2. Ways to ionize air: A. Air corona ionizes under strong electric field conditions to produce positive and negative ions; B, A rays and β rays act on air molecules to make them air ions; C, high energy rays (X-rays) act Air separation base ionization;
Characteristics of air ions
1. Air ions are different from solution ions. They require a certain amount of energy to be generated and usually exist in the form of molecular clusters;
2. Air ions also exist in the natural environment, but the concentration is very low;
3. The life of air ions in clean air is between a few seconds to a few minutes;
4. When the positive and negative ions meet together, they will neutralize each other;
Several issues that need to be considered in the use of ion static eliminator
1. The working distance considers two factors: A. The closer the distance is, the faster the electrostatic elimination speed; B. Different types of ion static eliminators have different effective distances.
2. The discharge needle of the ion static eliminator with strong electric field ionization mode is the most prone to aging and damage parts. Regular cleaning and maintenance can ensure the effectiveness of the equipment.
3. Elimination speed of static electricity: consider the index-dissipation speed, generally use CPM to measure the dissipation speed of 1000V-100V;
4. Ion balance: Ion imbalance will cause the objects in the action area to bring turtles, so it must be controlled. Ion imbalance only appears in the ionization equipment of corona ionization;
5. Other considerations: different types of ionization equipment are suitable for different objects
Various types of ion fans
1. AC ion fan:
A. Simple design and low cost;
B. Stable
C. The ionization efficiency of sine wave is low, which is not suitable for occasions that require rapid neutralization;
D. Different positive page ionization energies make the work of ionization balance difficult;
E. The cycle of alternating positive and negative ions is 1/100 or 1/120 seconds (50 or 60HZ). Natural neutralization of ions will further reduce efficiency and require high wind compensation;
F. Due to low efficiency, a larger voltage is required to generate enough ions, which will cause many particles, which is not conducive to strict dust-free environment use.
2. DC ion fan
A. Continuous high-voltage use has high ionization efficiency and can handle the need for rapid neutralization;
B. Lower voltage can be used, suitable for use in dust-free workshops;
C. Ability to use automatic measurement and feedback to control ionization balance;
D. A complex control circuit is required to ensure the balance of positive and negative ions.
3. Pulse DC ion fan
A. The ion group generated by the pulse reduces the situation of natural neutralization. Allow the ionizer to be far away from the protected object (up to 5 meters);
B. * Often used in dust-free workshops where low air flow may be required;
C. The pulse time can be adjusted to suit the airflow or distance requirements of the environment;
D. Pulse waves cause "voltage swing" voltage changes, which may be detrimental to some devices.
4. High frequency AC ion fan
A. The high frequency AC method above 3000HZ can greatly improve the AC ionization efficiency;
B. Lower ionization voltage can be used;
C. Good ion balance;
D. The discharge needle does not need to be grouped, and the size can be made small
E. Suitable for use in dust-free workshops
F. Short working distance and wind compensation.
