Unexpectedly, the use of surface resistance tester is so simple
The surface resistance tester is an instrument for testing the surface resistance of an object. It is mostly used in microelectronics, medicine, aerospace, precision machinery and other fields. Surface resistance tester (English: ESD Resistance tester).
Surface resistance tester is widely used in microelectronics, medicine, aerospace, precision machinery and other fields. Note: It is used to quantitatively measure the surface resistance or system resistance of all conductive, antistatic and electrostatic discharge materials. It is simple to use and easy to carry. Just place it on the surface of the test object and press the red button. The indicator light on the instrument ranges from 103 to 1012Ω, and one of the LED lights will light up according to the test value. Note: This tester cannot measure objects whose surface resistance exceeds 1012Ω.

How to use the surface resistance tester
1. Put a 9V dry battery in the battery slot behind the tester.
2. Insert the banana plug of the ground wire into the ground wire socket on the upper end of the HAKKO-498 tester.
3. Tie the wrist strap tightly to your wrist.
4. Connect the ground wire to the wrist strap.
5. Press the tester board by hand. At this time, the LCD indicator lights up and a beep can be heard. (1) If the red "LOW" light is on, check the resistance between the hand strap and the ground wire. When it is less than 800 kilohms, it will affect human safety. (2) If the red "HIGH" light is on, check whether the hand strap is fastened to the wrist, and check the resistance of the ground wire of the hand strap to ensure that the hand strap is not loosened from the tester ground wire. (3) If the green "GOOD" light is on, it means that the grounding system is good.
Just place it on the surface of the test object and press the red button, the indicator range on the instrument is 10^3 ~10^12Ω, one of the LED lights will light up according to the test value. This instrument can be used to measure the surface specific resistance (surface resistivity) of various fabrics, carpets, films and other insulating materials. The surface specific resistance can indirectly reflect the length of the static leakage time on the surface of the test material, thereby reflecting the static electricity of the test material performance.
Because it is small and easy to carry, it can test some conventional ESD products, so ESD is usually carried with you.
