What are the main parameters of electrostatic measurement

1. The amount of charge

The essence of static electricity is the existence of residual charge. Electric charge is all physical quantities related to the nature of electrostatic phenomena. Potential, electric field, current and other related quantities are all physical quantities produced due to the existence or movement of electric charges. It is often necessary to measure the charge amount or charge density of objects in scientific research institutes, universities, inspection stations and industrial and mining enterprises. The quantity of electricity used to express the amount of electrostatic charge is expressed in Q, and its unit is Coulomb C. Because the unit of Coulomb is too large, micro library or nano library is usually used

1 Coulomb = 1000000 micro-libraries

1 micro library = 1000 nano library (nC)

When measuring the charged powder and its charge-to-mass ratio, and measuring the performance of anti-static clothing, the amount of charged charge must be measured.

2. Electrostatic voltage

Since it is easier to measure electrostatic potential in many occasions, another commonly used electrostatic parameter is electrostatic potential, and its unit is volts, but because the electrostatic voltage is usually very high, a larger unit is commonly used-kilovolt (kV) 1kV=1000V

Instruments for measuring electrostatic voltage are usually divided into contact type and non-contact type. For measuring the electrostatic voltage of active charged objects such as electrostatic generator (high-voltage power supply), the contact type is commonly used. For measuring this type of static electricity, Q-V series electrostatic meters can be used. However, because the contact instrument will discharge the static electricity of the charged object when it comes into contact with the object to be measured, which will reduce the amount of charge or increase the capacitance of the charged object. Both of these factors will reduce the electrostatic potential of the object. The result is quite different from the actual charged condition of the object, so the more common method for measuring the electrostatic voltage of many objects is to use a non-contact electrostatic voltmeter. This kind of instrument does not make any contact with the first measured object during measurement, so it is correct The electrostatic effect of the measured object is very small. The commonly used instrument is the EST101 explosion-proof electrostatic voltmeter. This instrument can not only accurately and quickly measure the electrostatic voltage of the object in general places, but also can be used in places with high requirements for explosion protection. Light weight, small size, and low price, it is widely used in the country, such as various oil depots, ammunition, pyrotechnics, petroleum, chemical, textile, paper, rubber, printing, computer and other industries.

3. Resistance and resistivity

Testing the resistance and resistivity of a material is an important method to determine its anti-static performance, and many international and domestic standards have requirements for measuring resistance or resistivity. EST121 digital ultra-high resistance micro-current measuring instrument or EST120 digital ultra-high resistance meter can be used to measure resistance.
