What is anti-static sponge made of?

Anti-static sponge is primarily made of polyurethane (PU) foam, modified by adding conductive materials (such as conductive carbon fibers, antistatic agents, etc.) or nanomaterials (such as nano-attapulgite) to achieve an anti-static surface resistance within the 10⁹-10¹⁰Ω range.

1. Base Material Properties
Polyurethane is used as the base material and comes in polyester and polyether types. These materials exhibit excellent elasticity, softness, and breathability. Density can be adjusted through the foaming process (e.g., high density for integrated circuits, low density for shock-absorbing packaging).
2. Anti-static Additives
Conductive carbon fibers: Form a conductive layer that effectively conducts static electricity.
3. Anti-static agents: Added during the foaming process to dissipate static electricity.
Nano-attapulgite: Enhances water and high-temperature resistance while also providing anti-static properties.

Anti-static sponge, manufactured through composite processing or hot pressing, is suitable for electronic product packaging.
