Anti-static fabric inspection

Today, Master Chen in the workshop is going to test the new batch of anti-static fabrics, but because ESD technical engineers are not present, because I have also participated in ESD training, I helped test it.

The following is my actual testing process and experience, to share with you.

For the test, I used a portable surface resistance tester. First, the new anti-static fabric (stripe) was spread on a relatively flat insulating board, and then the two poles of the surface resistance tester were perpendicular to the stripes in the fabric. The result of the test is 10 to the 5th ohm, and then after cleaning it several times, it is still 10 to the 5th ohm after drying. In order to verify the accuracy of my test results, I tested the problematic anti-static fabric samples according to the same method. The test has no parameters, or sometimes there are parameters and sometimes parameters. I arbitrarily concluded that the new fabric is a qualified anti-static fabric.

In fact, during the test, I overlooked a very important point. If the fabric has been bleached and dyed with an antistatic agent (liquid), simply washing it a few times will not be able to remove the antistatic agent (liquid) attached to the fabric. The test result may still be displayed normally. Therefore, in order to prevent the fabric from being bleached and dyed with an antistatic agent (liquid), tests must be carried out in both vertical and parallel directions.

  Vertical test: Test the two poles of the surface resistance tester perpendicular to the stripes in the fabric;

   Parallel test: Test the two poles of the surface resistance tester parallel to the stripes in the fabric;

   If the qualified anti-static fabrics should have static parameters in the vertical test, but no static parameters in the parallel test. If it is a bleached and dyed anti-static fabric, there will be static parameters in the vertical and parallel tests.

   In addition, attention should be paid when testing, in order to prevent anti-static fabrics from jumping silk products, multi-point testing should be performed on the cloth.
