Dust-free coveralls must be regularly tested for anti-static performance
If the dust-free coveralls worn by workers in the clean room are effective in preventing dust, its anti-static performance is also very important. Because the anti-static performance is good, clothes are not easy to vacuum.



In electronic operations, static electricity can damage tiny circuits. When people move in a clean room, their dust-free coveralls will rub against seats, workbenches, underwear and skin worn inside, and generate static electricity on the dust-free coveralls outside. This static electricity will be released to the integrated circuit and destroy it. Therefore, in the production of clean clothing fabrics, continuous conductive fibers made of conductive materials are woven into the fabric.

Another way to measure the antistatic performance of fabrics is to observe the decay time of static electricity on the fabrics. This method is better than measuring conductivity. First generate a charge with a known voltage on the fabric, and then measure the time it takes for the voltage to drop to 1/2 or 1/10 of its original value. The time can vary from less than 0.1 seconds to more than 10 minutes. The shorter the time, the better the anti-static effect of the fabric.
Measure resistivity or conductivity; measure the attenuation of voltage; measure the voltage generated by personnel wearing clean clothes. There are several methods to test the surface resistivity of fabrics. The lower the resistance, the better the fabric, because the lower the resistivity, the easier it is for static electricity to be conducted away.
