If employees wear anti-static work clothes and static shoes, do they still need to wear anti-static wrist straps?
Wrist straps are not required if the operator is wearing anti-static footwear on a conductive floor and does not simultaneously lift the heel/sole like other people are sitting. If the operator also wears anti-static work clothes, but the anti-static clothes are not electrically connected to the body skin or the earth, then the work clothes can only provide partial protection. If the work clothes are not grounded, the static charge on the work clothes may have nowhere to go or discharge to surrounding items. The common method of grounding the anti-static clothing is to change the cuffs of the static clothing into elastic cuffs, and then close to the human skin, and then tie the wrist strap to the wrist inside the anti-static clothing; or connect the grounding component with a coil to the anti-static On the static suit.
