Introduction to ESD Antistatic Plywood
Antistatic plywood (also known as antistatic mat + composite board) is a composite material board. By combining conductive materials with synthetic rubber, it is made with a function of rapidly dissipating static electricity. It is commonly used in demanding environments such as electronics workshops and computer rooms. It can be laid on the floor or workbench, providing acid and alkali resistance, abrasion resistance, and protecting precision electronic components from electrostatic interference. It has a double-layer structure: the surface layer is a dissipative layer, and the bottom layer is a conductive layer, which can quickly conduct static electricity to the ground.
Main Features and Applications

Static Electricity Protection: Quickly and safely dissipates static electricity, with a short protection time (usually less than 0.5 seconds).
Double-layer Composite Structure: Surface static dissipative layer (resistance 10^7-10^9Ω) and bottom conductive layer (resistance 10^3-10^5Ω).
Physical Properties: Acid and alkali resistant, solvent resistant, abrasion resistant, physically stable, and easy to clean.
Applicable Scenarios: Microelectronics industrial workshops, integrated circuit production lines, laboratories, stamping gaskets, computer room workbenches and floors.
Environmental Standards: Some products comply with EU RoHS environmental standards.
Grounding Requirements: Must be connected to the earth via a copper strip or grounding wire for long-term protection.
Difference from Ordinary Plywood: Ordinary plywood is a board made of wood bonded with adhesives; it easily generates static electricity and is not conductive.
Anti-static plywood, on the other hand, has a special layer added to conduct and dissipate static electricity, making it a functional material.
How to Choose and Use: Select the appropriate surface resistivity and color (e.g., blue, gray) based on the working environment and protection requirements.
Ensure a reliable connection to the ground wire during installation to effectively discharge static electricity.
It is not completely insulating, but rather guides and dissipates static electricity, which is crucial for precision electronic products.
