1. Basic supporting equipment
Usually there are three main basic parameters for measuring static electricity, static voltage (bit), charge (density) and resistance (rate). The amount of charge is a physical quantity that is the essence of static electricity. In many scientific researches, the amount of charge or charge density is measured. However, it is inconvenient to directly measure the amount of charge at many sites. At this time, measure the electrostatic voltage on the surface. The antistatic properties of many materials can be identified by testing their surface resistance or volume resistance. The basic measuring instruments that should be equipped in any department are electrostatic voltmeters and high-resistance meters. Periodic inspections are carried out on objects that may generate static electricity. If conditions permit, it should also be equipped with an electrostatic detection alarm door (device) and a human body resistance tester.
2. Choose according to the place of use
Generally, the instruments used in the field are preferably pocket-sized or portable. Whether the power source is battery or alternating current, it is convenient to use the battery. But it is mainly used in the laboratory to provide AC power supply to avoid the trouble of frequent battery replacement. For battery-powered instruments, pay attention to whether there is a battery undervoltage indicator. Because the accuracy of the instrument will be significantly worse when the battery is under-voltage. For AC-powered instruments, pay attention to whether the power supply voltage meets the requirements of the local power supply. Some have 115/230V selection switches (such as EST801 electrostatic generator). Check whether the power supply voltage selection switch is in the proper position before use.
3. Selected according to the requirements of the place of use
The instrument used in flammable and explosive places must be explosion-proof, and pay attention to its explosion-proof grade. It depends on whether there is an explosion-proof mark and an explosion-proof certificate number on the instrument.
