Selection of masks
Recently, due to the increase in the epidemic situation, epidemic prevention work is also in full swing. Wearing a mask is one of the basic epidemic prevention measures. In addition to epidemic prevention, masks are often a basic equipment in the manufacturing process of factories or laboratories.
Filter efficiency of simple masks commonly used in workplaces (@MPPS):
N95> activated carbon> medical masks> general non-woven masks.
Regardless of the above-mentioned masks in use, the filtering effect is achieved by trapping particles on the mask. Therefore, as the use time increases, the pressure difference formed by the mask during breathing also increases, and the proportion of air slowly entering through the gap between the edges of the mask will gradually increase. To make simple masks work, throw them away after use. If it is washed for prolonged use, it may damage the structure and make the effect worse; various sterilization methods, even if the mask is not damaged, only reduce the number of microorganisms, and will not remove the particles stuck in the mask fiber (only remove the Factors that must be discarded due to microbial contamination, and slightly extend the use time). The simple masks that can be reused are probably only cotton masks, which can be cleaned. But its filtration efficiency is poor, and it is mainly used to cover, keep warm or filter coarse dust.
