There is no anti-static grounding in the laboratory, how to carry out ESD protection

Our engineers often encounter anti-static table mats or anti-static floor mats in customer laboratories, but still find various testing problems inquiries. After remote video or on-site inspection, it is often found that the customer's site is not effectively anti-static grounding! After effective anti-static grounding, the original test problem no longer appears. So how to carry out effective anti-static grounding for ESD protection?

Based on actual combat experience, technical engineers made the following suggestions: The ground wire can be drawn from the AC equipment ground as the ESD anti-static grounding system ground wire, but this has a prerequisite-the laboratory's AC equipment system is well grounded. If you confirm that the grounding of the AC equipment is in good condition, there are two methods to choose from: Method one, lead the ESD grounding wire from the equipment ground of the distribution box, this method is highly reliable; Method two, directly from the laboratory The ground wire of the AC power socket leads to the ESD ground wire ground. Although this method is simple, the reliability needs to be verified, because the more domestic electrical wiring depends on the terminal, the reliability of the equipment ground becomes more problematic, and there are often completely ungrounded wires. Case. Therefore, if possible, it is recommended that an independent grounding is the most reliable.
