Anti-static tools require regular testing.

Many companies have implemented comprehensive anti-static measures, such as ionizers, anti-static wrist straps, anti-static shoes, and anti-static clothing. However, static electricity incidents persist and are difficult to resolve, causing headaches for many managers. So, what's the problem? Many people mistakenly believe that good equipment eliminates static electricity. However, even good equipment can malfunction if not regularly inspected. Based on my years of experience in anti-static work, I have summarized the following issues:

1. Incorrect use of anti-static tools, such as improper use of wrist straps. Anti-static wrist straps are easily damaged and require daily testing. Ideally, an online wrist strap monitor should be used to monitor their proper functioning in real time. Even a good wrist strap can become non-conductive if worn too loosely by workers. Therefore, the best method is to use an online wrist strap monitor for real-time monitoring. However, many companies don't even have a wrist strap tester, using the same anti-static wrist strap for years, which is ineffective.

2. Antistatic shoes and antistatic clothing were not worn simultaneously. In addition to antistatic shoes, workers must also wear antistatic work clothes to effectively control static electricity on their bodies. Ordinary clothing can also generate high levels of static electricity, especially since most clothing today is made of synthetic fibers, which can generate thousands or even tens of thousands of volts.

On-site testing in the production workshop has proven that workers only wearing antistatic work clothes, without antistatic shoes and proper antistatic flooring, cannot achieve the required antistatic effect. Antistatic protection is a long-term, systematic project; temporary antistatic measures cannot achieve the desired effect continuously. Therefore, hardware decoration alone is far from sufficient; professional antistatic standards must be followed, such as how to properly wear antistatic wrist straps and how often antistatic products should be tested.

3. Antistatic equipment has not been inspected for a long time; some equipment that no longer has antistatic functionality is still being used.
