How to effectively prevent static electricity in system engineering
First of all, from the perspective of the mechanism of static electricity generation, we should start from reducing the insulation of the relevant objects so that even if the two objects rub against each other, no or less static electricity will be generated. There are some main measures for this:
1. Keep the environment at a certain humidity. Practice has shown that in the northern region or in the dry winter, the number of failures caused by static electricity is far greater than in the southeast coastal area or other seasons. Therefore, in some important places, such as computer rooms, laboratories, and electronic instrument assembly and adjustment workshops, we should consider maintaining a certain humidity, especially for those closed air-conditioned rooms, which should have certain humidity control equipment.
2. Lay anti-static chairs or carpets. At present, there are plastic floor or carpet products with certain conductive properties, which can effectively suppress static electricity generated by people walking.
3. Use ion air guns, ion air blower, ion rods and other facilities to prevent static electricity generation within a certain range.
4. Semiconductor devices should be placed in anti-static plastic containers or anti-static plastic bags. Such anti-static containers have good conductive properties and can effectively prevent static electricity generation. Of course, if conditions permit, it should be placed in a metal container or wrapped in metal foil.
5. Operators should wear anti-static wrist straps on their wrists. Such wrist straps should have good grounding performance. This measure is the most effective.
