How to choose a suitable and cost-effective anti-static dust-free cloth

Anti-static dust-free cloth is a necessity for the production lines of microelectronics, semiconductors, precision instruments, LED displays and other products. However, due to the wide variety of anti-static dust-free cloths and the large price differences, choosing what kind of anti-static dust-free cloth to buy has become a worry for corporate purchasers. So how to choose a suitable and cost-effective anti-static dust-free cloth?

1. Cloth type selection for anti-static dust-free cloth

1. Basis weight: Whether the basis weight of the same kind of fabric is the same (basis weight is the gram weight per cubic meter).

2. Type and quality: Microfiber is of higher quality and polyester fiber is of lower quality.

3. Softness: The softer, the better.

4. Wear resistance: The stronger it is, the less likely it is to shed fiber debris.

2. Comparison of the amount of dust generated by different edge sealing methods of anti-static dust-free cloth

Dust-free cloth can be divided into four types according to the edge sealing method: thermal cutting, ultrasonic cutting, laser cutting and general cold cutting.

1. Laser cutting: The edge sealing degree reaches 99%, no chips or dust, but the technology and cost are the highest.

2. Ultrasonic cutting: The edge sealing degree is less than 80%, and no chips will fall off. After cleaning, the edge sealing will easily tear and chip off.

3. Thermal cutting: The edge sealing degree is less than 75%, and no chips will fall off. After cleaning, the edge sealing will easily tear and chip off.

4. General cold cutting: no edge sealing, easier to shed chips, lowest technology and cost, more suitable for products that do not have high cleanliness requirements.

3. Quality inspection of anti-static dust-free cloths

1. Dust generation amount: the lower, the better

2. Wipeability: The stronger, the better

3. Water absorption: Does it meet product requirements?

4. Ion content: Is it within the reference test standard range?

5. Whether there is an inspection report from the certification unit

When purchasing anti-static dust-free cloths, corporate procurement should not just focus on low prices, but should consider the above three factors. Choosing appropriate products and the most cost-effective anti-static dust-free cloths is the way to go!
