Before entering a cleanroom, it is important to understand the different clothing and their respective uses as well as the dressing process itself. A cleanroom is an environment that needs to reduce dust and/or microbial contaminants. In order to do this, staff must know what clothes to use and what process to follow to put them on correctly.

1. First, take off all external street clothing such as coats, hats, jewelry, makeup, pullovers and scarves. All these items must be dragged off before entering the cleanroom.

2. Wash your hands before entering. Artificial nails are not allowed, and the nails on your hands should be clean and trimmed.

3. Wear clean dust-free clothes. Do not wear special shoes or shoe covers. All shoes or shoe covers used in cleanrooms must not exceed the steps or demarcations of the dressing area.

4. Shoe covers should be properly disposed of after wear and not reused.

5. Wear a hat if necessary. These will help prevent contamination.

6. Wear low-lint disposable work clothes. Wear a mask and eye mask when necessary.

7. Use antiseptic cleaning by hand washing where appropriate.

8. It is important to wear coveralls so that the sleeves fit tightly around the wrists. If reusable coveralls are worn, they should be cleaned and prepared for use in the cleanroom.

9. Use an anhydrous alcohol-based hand scrub to further clean your hands.

10. Allow your hands to dry before putting on sterile or non-sterile gloves, depending on the process being performed in the cleanroom.

11. Enter the cleanroom.

Depending on the classification of the cleanroom, different cleanroom garments need to be worn and the process may vary. Before entering the cleanroom, you need to be familiar with the relevant procedures and regulations to minimize contamination.
