Proper purchase and use of activated carbon masks
Activated carbon gas respirator is mainly used for chemical operation posts, workplaces where the chemical gas content in the air meets national standards and well-ventilated places. (After environmental protection disposal, places that exceed the standard should use filter box gas masks) It has four layers, which are divided into spunbond cloth, activated carbon cloth (which can filter and purify odors), high-efficiency filter cloth (this is a static-treated filter layer that can effectively prevent the invasion of bacteria and dust), and spunbond cloth. The main function of the activated carbon filter layer is to adsorb organic gas, foul odor, and toxic dust. It is not used to filter dust, and is suitable for oil spray, silk screen and other volatile chemicals.
The correct use of activated carbon mask:
1.Pull the mask up and down to unfold the fold;
2. The slightly black side faces outward, and the pale white (elastic webbing) side faces inward;
3.The side with the nose clip (metal strip nose bridge clip) is facing up;
4.Use the elastic webbing on both sides to fit the mask to the face;
5.Two fingers gently press the metal strip on both sides of the nose;
6.Pull the lower end of the mask to the chin, and adjust it to have no gap with your face.
★ The product is a disposable product. Pay special attention to this mask not to directly contact with chemicals. After use, the mask should be packed in the original packaging bag and stored in a dry and ventilated place.
How to distinguish true and false activated carbon? The activated carbon layer used by general mask factories mostly uses impregnated processing methods to mix resin and activated carbon to fix it on non-woven fabrics. There are many fake activated carbon masks on the market, although the surface looks like dark black "activated carbon "Cloth, in fact, is only dyed and cannot absorb odor or organic gas at all. The real activated carbon is activated carbon particles or activated carbon fibers that have been carbonized and activated at high temperature. It will not melt and disappear even when exposed to high temperature. Try it out, cut off the activated carbon mask you have used, remove the black activated carbon layer, rub it by hand, and check if there are any black particles falling off. Burn it with a lighter to see if there are no residual activated carbon particles or active Carbon fiber, it means that you bought a fake product without adsorption effect before.
