Static eliminator (eliminator, electric neutralizer or ion balancer)

Static eliminator is another large class of anti-static products besides anti-static material products. Its main principle is to use high-voltage electric field or radioactive rays to partially ionize the air, resulting in a large number of ion and electron pairs, of which the polarity is opposite to that of the charged body. The ions (or electrons) approach and neutralize the charged body to achieve the purpose of eliminating static electricity. The main parameters are:

Effective dissipating current IC; (>1.0×10-7A/cm);-The amount of charge that can be neutralized by a unit length of the dissipating rod in a unit time;

Ion current extraction efficiency h (ion wind);-the ratio of the total number of ions extracted per unit time to the total number of ions generated by the discharge needle per unit time;

Static electricity neutralization capacity N (ion wind); (>250V/s)-the voltage value that can eliminate static electricity per unit time.

The main types of static electricity eliminators are:

Induction type consumer:

Composition: grounding needle electrode; principle: local high voltage; form: single needle, multiple needles, electric brush, wire; material: conductive fiber cloth, zigzag conductive film or rubber, brush-like carbon fiber or metal fiber; characteristics: simple, no The power source and dissipating capacity are small, suitable for objects with high charge density, and the operating distance is short, 10-20mm. .

High voltage consumer:

Composition: high voltage source + discharge needle (multiple) or discharge rod; classification: DC and power frequency;

The characteristics of the DC power eliminator: strong power dissipation, large range of action (150mm ~ 600mm); but the short-circuit current is large, and spark discharge is prone to occur.

The characteristics of the power frequency eliminator: mains drive, convenient, low power consumption, operating distance 25mm ~ 35mm, wide application range; but it needs frequent maintenance such as cleaning dust and replacing passivated needles.

Radioisotope Discharger:

Composition: isotope radioactive source + shielding frame + protection net;

Features: No need for power supply, simple structure installation, easy maintenance, no heat and ignition, but power loss, working distance 20-30mm.

Ion Wind Dissipator:

Composition: DC high voltage power supply (or radioactive source) + corona discharger + air supply system;

Features: Many applications, long working distance, wide range (up to 1m), low power consumption of electrical appliances; but complex structure, air distribution system is required; environment (clean, dry 70%,) and maintenance (daily, regular and temporary )High standard.
