The Function of ESD Wristbands
An ESD wristband is a device worn on the wrist to discharge accumulated static electricity from the body. It comes in wired and wireless types, and features a combination of metal rings and elastic conductive wire loops. This particular product is a wired ESD wristband with adjustable buckle. It effectively protects components from static interference and discharges static electricity from the body. It consists of an anti-static elastic band, a snap fastener, a spring-loaded cord, a protective resistor, and a clip. The inner layer of the elastic band is woven with anti-static yarn, while the outer layer is woven with ordinary yarn.
ESD wristbands effectively release static electricity from the body through grounding, preventing electrostatic discharge from damaging products. ESD wristbands generally require a grounding socket; one grounding socket can connect two wristbands. During use, the wristband must be in contact with the skin, and the grounding wire must be directly grounded to maximize its effectiveness. Wearing this ESD wristband can safely remove static electricity generated in the body within 0.1 seconds. Grounding wristbands are the most basic and widely used type of anti-static equipment.
