Antistatic ESD Shoe Care Tips
ESD shoes are indispensable antistatic supplies in electronics factories. Comfortable shoes allow workers to work more efficiently while effectively preventing static electricity. Performance maintenance mainly involves proper storage, while appearance maintenance focuses on scientific cleaning. Sometimes, both are interconnected. Since shoes are so important, we must learn how to care for antistatic shoes.
Antistatic shoes can be divided into two categories based on the materials used: one where the sole and upper are made of different materials, and another where the entire shoe is made of the same materials. Upper materials include PVC leather, genuine leather, canvas, and TC fabric; sole materials include PVC and PU foam.
Based on the main materials mentioned above, they can be divided into three categories: PVC leather/genuine leather/PVC/PU foam in one category, canvas in another, and TC fabric in yet another. For PVC leather, genuine leather, PVC, and PU foam shoes, store them away from high temperatures. When there are stains, wipe them with a damp towel. Do not use a shoe brush to directly scrub the upper or lining of the shoe to avoid damaging the materials. Store them properly after each wear.



For ESD canvas shoes, pay special attention to dust prevention. Canvas shoes are very comfortable, but the material easily attracts dust. Therefore, canvas shoes should generally be worn in a cleanroom. Canvas shoes can be washed, but the frequency should be limited.
Shoes made of TC (polyester) fabric are also quite comfortable. Because TC fabric contains more than 50% cotton, TC shoes are prone to deformation after washing. However, TC shoes can be easily cleaned. Also, these shoes are prone to discoloration if exposed to outdoor environments. Therefore, it is best to use them indoors.
