There are several forms of electrostatic grounding.

To eliminate the hazards caused by static electricity, measures must be taken. There are many methods to eliminate static electricity, but the simplest and most effective method is grounding.

The grounding method varies depending on the situation. Below are some forms of electrostatic grounding:

**Hard Grounding:** Connecting an object directly to the earth or through a low-impedance connection.

**Soft Grounding:** Connecting an object to the earth through a sufficiently high impedance connection to limit the current below a safe level in the event of an electric shock.

**Direct Grounding:** Conductively connecting a metal conductor to the earth, making the potential of the metal conductor close to the earth's potential.

**Indirect Grounding:** Grounding the surface of an external electrostatic conductor or subconductor by tightly connecting all or part of its surface to a grounded metal conductor, using these metals as grounding electrodes.

**Bridge Grounding:** Structurally fixing metal objects together using mechanical or chemical methods to create a conductive connection between two or more mutually insulated metal conductors, establishing a low-impedance path for power flow, before grounding. A dedicated static ground wire must not be shared with equipment grounding (as equipment malfunctions may cause reverse static discharge), nor can it be used in conjunction with lightning protection grounding (which would attract lightning).
