What kind of desk meets anti-static requirements?
People working in electronics factories often come into contact with anti-static desks, but how do you identify if a desk has anti-static properties?
For example, a factory might use ordinary office desks with only an anti-static mat on top. This is not advisable. Although the desk surface may meet anti-static requirements, it cannot effectively dissipate static electricity. Furthermore, other parts of an ordinary office desk can also generate static electricity. Therefore, the entire desk should be coated with an anti-static coating. A qualified anti-static office desk must meet the following three points:
1. The surface resistance of the desk surface must meet anti-static requirements.



2. The surface resistance of the overall paint coating on the desk must meet anti-static requirements.
3. The overall grounding resistance of the desk must meet anti-static requirements (volume resistance from the desktop to the legs).
Test these in this order. Only if all tests meet the anti-static requirements can you say you are using an anti-static desk.
